Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! I am in Dallas, Texas checking it out so I can give you some ideas of where to stay and what to do when you are here for the big game.

First piece of advice - Grapevine, Texas is a good place stay. Grapevine is close to DFW International and only about 25 miles from Cowboys Stadium. There are several hotels to choose from in Grapevine. The Gaylord Texas convention center and resort is looks brand new and it is the official hotel of the Dallas Cowboys. The Gaylord has a huge pool with a several story high tower/slide and lazy river. Just across the street from the Gaylord is the Great Wolf Lodge - a great but expensive place for families. The Great Wolf has both an indoor and outdoor water park open only to guest of the hotel/resort that is included in the price of the room. Yes, Oregon fans, it will be more than hot enough to bring your bathing suits the first week of September. There is a pretty good outlet mall in Grapevine that has a Rain Forest Cafe, an outlet Niemann Marcus, and an outlet Saxs 5th Avenue. There are plenty of places to shop at the Grapevine Mills Mall and many places nearby. There is also a large lake and a marina close to all of the hotels where I am sure there are plenty of boat and jet ski rentals.

If you are not looking for a resort like the Great Wolf Lodge or the Gaylord Texas, there are plenty of nice newer hotels in Grapevine. There is the usual Hilton, Residence Inn Marriott as well as a beautiful Embassy Suites. And once again one of the big advantages is that Cowboys Stadium is a straight short 20-25 miles away from just about anywhere you might stay in Grapevine Texas.

My family and I are having a great 4th of July here and wish you and your family a Happy 4th of July also.
